The Allentown Band is the oldest civilian concert band in the United States. Its first documented performance was on July 4, 1828 and the band has continued to play ever since.
Under the direction of Conductor Ronald Demkee, the band has a very diverse and extremely dedicated group of talented musicians comprising the membership, including several who have played with the band for more than 60 years! While none makes his/her livelihood solely through performance, each brings a highly professional approach and exemplary level of musicianship to every performance.
